Once upon a time a farmer had a bad tempered dog. It was always chained to the gate of his farm-house. It found its way into the manger one day. It found the place nice and comfortable. It made up the mind to stay there. When it was evening, the cattle returned home. They went straight to the manger to eat their fodder. But he growled and barked at them. They couldn’t dare come near it.
